Our mission is to support evangelism by addressing practical needs and promoting Jesus as the ultimate source of hope. We assist both individuals and communities by providing practical help and sharing messages of faith and encouragement. Our goal is to make a positive impact in people's lives through practical assistance, spiritual guidance, and encouraging local solutions to combat poverty.
Our small team brings decades of combined experience and passion to the mission:
I've been privileged to be a volunteer in Romania for 25 years. It has been a truly profound experience, witnessing God at work not only in the lives of the people we serve, but also in my own. My deepest passion is to support evangelism and help those God leads me to live more abundant lives, both spiritually and physically.
30 years ago, I was challenged to go out to Romania. I was blown away by the poverty, and how much can be achieved by showing love and support to the poor. I still feel that today.
I have lived in Tiverton, Devon, for more than thirty years, attending the local Baptist Church throughout that time. My work with Hope In Christ Romania flows directly from my ministry in Tiverton. It’s a joy to connect my local faith life with the mission of serving poor communities abroad.
With a background in bookkeeping, managing a busy family as a PTA mum, I was inspired by Maria and Andrew's work and jumped in to support it. I am committed to supporting the charity's work, as I truly value any initiative that uplifts and cares for others.
My passion for mission began in 2013 when I first volunteered. Seeing the depth of poverty in Europe was deeply impactful. I knew I had to act, and it was in that moment that God placed the Shoebox Project in my heart—a project that I now continue with Hope in Christ Romania.
